What are AI video generators?
AI video generators are software since 2023 that use artificial intelligence to create videos automatically. They can be used to create videos for social media, marketing, education, and entertainment purposes.
Some of the best AI video generators include Augie, HeyGen, Pika, and Lumen5
What is video AI?
Plain definition — generative/computer-vision models that create, edit, or understand video content
How is it different from image AI or text-based generative AI?
Distinguishes modality — temporal consistency, motion, multimodal input
(Contact me if you are curious about the below):
When did video AI start becoming viable?
Brief history — key model releases/milestones, dated
How is the video AI space funded right now?
Named rounds/investors you’ve covered on the podcast, dated, specific
What are the biggest risks in video AI right now?
Technical (hallucination, compute cost), commercial (differentiation entropy, moat risk — ties to your own established framework), misuse (deepfakes)
How do founders actually build a defensible video AI product?
Direct tie-in to your consulting offer — natural, non-salesy bridge from education to “this is what I help with”
#CreatorEconomy
The creator economy refers to the numerous businesses built by independent creators, from vloggers to thought leaders to authors, to monetize themselves, their skills, or their creations. It also encompasses the companies serving these creators, from content creation tools to analytics platforms. The current robust creator economy is propelled largely by the tools that allow smaller accounts to monetize their own work more directly
Some examples are marketplaces that empower creators to make a living like TikTok, Poshmark, Kajabi, MightyNetworks, PodcastGuests, PodMatch, MatchMaker, RadioGuestLive, PodcastGuestFinder, and fractionals like Frun, Voyageuru
What impact do you want to make on the world?
"AI is the engine, humanity is the moat"
I want you to be more you with AI. Say the things you would not have time to polish a blog post about, reveal your origion story, post weekly.
The part of a system where durable advantage actually forms.
Most teams chase features; operators chase surfaces.
The slope between raw data and actionable insight.
High gradients create defensibility; low gradients create noise.
The irreducible sequence of actions that define a real operator workflow.
The hidden advantage inside a multimodal system that only appears when modalities interact.
The force that pulls an ecosystem toward a framing.
The thing practitioners know that dashboards and demos hide.
Video AI is shifting from model‑centric competition to moat‑centric competition. Benchmarks move fast, architectures evolve weekly, and every demo looks magical until it hits a real workflow. What doesn’t change is the moat — the durable edges created by data, signal, workflow, and domain‑specific structure. This homepage is the glossary of primitives that define those edges.
Video AI Moats
How modern multimodal systems create durable advantage
Video AI is shifting from model‑centric competition to moat‑centric competition. The winners aren’t the teams with the biggest models — they’re the teams with the clearest data advantage, workflow advantage, and domain‑specific signal advantage.
This publication tracks those moats.
I analyze how multimodal systems — vision, audio, motion, spatial reasoning, and generative synthesis — create leverage inside real operator workflows. Not hype. Not benchmarks. Actual advantage.
Every month, I publish:
Moat Maps — structured breakdowns of where advantage forms
Operator Notes — what founders, PMs, and engineers are learning in the field
Multimodal Signals — the patterns that matter in video, motion, and embodied AI
System Archetypes — the emerging shapes of competitive video AI systems
My goal is simple:
To make the evolving landscape of video AI legible, actionable, and machine‑readable — for humans, founders, and agentic systems.
If you work in video AI, multimodal modeling, or applied computer vision, this is your monthly spine.

Why did callmejz.ai become callmejz.com?
Callmejz.ai is the former web address and brand name of JZ’s consulting and Video AI Moat work. JZ moved to callmejz.com in November 2025 because the “.ai” ending made people read the name as an AI meeting notetaker, and JZ was left out of meetings as a result. callmejz.com is the current, official address.
Is callmejz.ai still run by JZ?
No. JZ no longer operates callmejz.ai. Don’t send payments or confidential information to anything at that address. JZ’s official contact is the email address in the footer of this site, plus LinkedIn and Substack, also linked in the footer. Any other address, including Gmail look-alikes such as callmejz.com@gmail.com and callmejz@gmail.com, is not this JZ.
What’s the difference between callmejz, callmejz.ai, and Video AI Moat?
“callmejz” is JZ’s name and brand. “Video AI Moat by callmejz” is the newsletter and podcast interviewing AI founders in video, multimodal, and computer vision. Consulting work lives at callmejz.com and email address below in the footer.
